about

"Sandman" is about becoming aware of one's other-ness. Life was easier as a kid, at least prior to 9/11. In the days, months, and years that followed it became clear that despite being born and raised in the US, I didn't belong. Sandman plays off of the juxtaposition between childish innocence and the darkness that surrounds maturing in a post-9/11 world. The single and upcoming video documenting the studio process (and shenanigans involved) are distributed through Six Degrees Records.

lyrics

It don't feel like it used to,
Maybe I’m overthinking,
Chained to the rearview,
Ancient and old my coffee skin

I’m holding on to something in the mirror
Afraid of losing out on the years

I don’t wanna get older
Take me back to those good old fashion days
I don’t wanna get older
I just wanna be somebody’s baby

I don’t wanna get older
Take me back to those good old fashion days
I don’t wanna get older
I just wanna be somebody’s baby

Wait up, then cut me loose
Ooh you got me feeling like a little lower
Bottom of the Peking order
Someone send the police over
Check it out and send me away

Appearing like a Sandman in the snow
My soul has lasted time yet I’m the ghost

I don’t wanna get older
Take me back to those good old fashion days
I don’t wanna get older
I just wanna be somebody’s baby

I don’t wanna get older
Take me back to those good old fashion days
I don’t wanna get older
I just wanna be somebody’s baby
